SENIOR School - April 30, 2026

Challenge Week

The school is brimming with excitement as our Grade 9 and 10 students prepare to head out for Challenge Week. The best way to follow them is through the school’s social media accounts. If you need to contact someone at the school regarding the trip, please call or email Andrea Lossing at 416-526-6595 or alossing@yorkschool.com.

And while our Grade 12s continue with their Diploma exams, our Grade 11s will be working on two major projects: the extended essay, and the Collaborative Natural Sciences Project.

Student Life & Belonging

Challenge Week 2026

Our Grade 6 to 10 students and teachers are getting very excited for their upcoming Challenge Week trips. Challenge Week 2026 takes place from Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8 2026 (please note: some trips depart or return on the weekends). Each year, this unique experiential program, offers a variety of curriculum-linked trips throughout North America for students in Grades 6 to 10 during the first week of May.

Challenge Week integrates the philosophy of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP), which currently runs at York from Grade 6 through Grade 10, with our experiential approach to learning, and directly supports our school’s mission “to nurture curious learners to become globally minded leaders with integrity and purpose.”

The lead chaperones of each Challenge Week trip will be in touch soon (about a week in advance of the trip) to share final reminders and trip details (including meeting times, final itineraries, emergency contact information, and packing lists).

Questions? Please contact Andrea Lossing, Experiential Educator at alossing@yorkschool.com.

CLASS OF 2027 GRAD HOODIES - On Sale Monday!

Students in next year’s graduating class who are interested in adding the TYS Class of 2027 personalized hoodie to their uniform options, can make their purchase through the google form that was emailed to them on Monday, April 27 by Ms. Porter.

Orders are due by Friday, May 8.

As we only place one order over the summer, so that the hoodies arrive in time for Camp Timberlane, we encourage students to adhere to this deadline to ensure they do not miss out!

Junior and middle school Carnival - Volunteer Opportunity FOR Students

On Saturday May 23, our 1320 campus is hosting this year’s JK-8 carnival from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

A google sign-up form has been sent to students in Grades 9-12. If your child is interested, please remind them to fill out the form!
