Student Life & Belonging

ECO Week 2026 - Plastics vs. The Planet!

Next week is Eco Week and our theme is: Plastics vs. The Planet - learning to make a difference with sustainable choices!

Each day there will be a casual theme day. Students who are not participating in the theme wear are expected to wear their uniform.

Activities are listed on the schedule below and we are excited to welcome two leaders from the sustainability sector to speak about purchasing power at our assembly on Tuesday: Miriam Juarez - owner/creator of The Pretty Clean Shop as well as Emma - Director of Sustainability from Silk & Snow.

Questions? Cathy Gordeyev, Eco Committee Supervisor at cgordeyev@yorkschool.com.

York’s JK-Gr. 8 Carnival Volunteer Opportunity

On Saturday May 23, our 1320 campus is hosting this year’s JK-8 carnival from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

We are looking for Senior School students who would be interested in volunteering with running activities, supporting various stations, and perhaps taking a splash in the dunk tank!

Volunteers will be expected to arrive at 1:30pm and stay until 5:30pm. As such, students will receive 4 volunteer hours on this day.

A google sign-up form has been sent to students in Grades 9-12. If your child is interested, please remind them to fill out the form!

Questions? Please contact Erin Porter, Director, Student Life & Belonging at eporter@yorkschool.com.
