HR teachers will review the boundaries and rules for lunch outs. Failing to adhere to these rules may result in the loss of this privilege.

Introducing Canvas: New Learning Management System
We are excited to launch Canvas, our new and upgraded Learning Management System replacing Blackboard in the Middle and Senior School.
Canvas gives you greater visibility into your child’s daily learning journey, offering clear, real-time insights into course materials, upcoming assignments, and personalized teacher feedback.
To connect your account and start observing your student's progress, please follow our step-by-step Canvas Parent Observer Setup Guide. All you need to get started is a quick pairing code generated from your child's student account.
Stop by our IT Support table during Curriculum Night on September 24 and October 1 and our team will be available in person to help you connect your account and answer any questions.

Alongside the YPA, we are building a network of parents and guardians interested in sharing their professional knowledge and experiences through guest speaking opportunities, class visits, and field trip hosting to help enrich student learning and co-curricular experiences at The York School. Bring your Game On!
The YPA has curated a fun-filled Games Night for all Middle and Senior School families. We will have puzzles, competitions, mini escape rooms, Jenga towers, trivia showdowns and more. There will be prizes!

Assembly Tomorrow - Friday, September 25
We are looking forward to welcoming Dr. Brendan K. Hartman, an expert in the field of sociology, psychology and fostering community and belonging, to York.
The timing for the day will follow a regular, Tuesday assembly-day schedule.
Homeroom Timing - 8:55am - 9:05am
Assembly Timing - 9:05am - 9:55am
Following the assembly, Dr. Hartman will be facilitating two workshops for our Grade 12 leaders.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day - Wednesday, September 30
On Wednesday, September 30, we will observe the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.
Students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on this day with their uniform bottoms. If a student does not have an orange shirt, they should wear their regular uniform.
As this is a late start Wednesday, we will have an adjusted schedule to accommodate our assembly.
For our assembly, we are very excited to welcome our Grade 9 Kelowna Challenge Week partners, Greg Hopf (co-owner of Moccasin Trails) and Chief Frank Antoine, leader of the Bonaparte First Nations, to join our community and speak to the importance of relationships when reflecting on the Calls to Action and Truth and Reconciliation.
