Locker and Desk Clean Out
Over the next two weeks students will be given time to clean out their lockers and desks.
Students should take everything home for the summer

All lost and found items will be on display in the Fitness Centre for students to peruse.
Thursday, June 5, 10:30am - 7:00pm - Grade 6 Trip to Stratford Festival - VO Form
Please note that the bus will be parking on Woodlawn Ave (the street just south of the school) upon its return.
We kindly ask parents not to park on Woodlawn Ave due to limited space for the bus. Please find a parking spot on a nearby street and walk to Woodlawn Ave to pick up your child.
Tuesday, June 10 - Grade 7 & 8 Math Exams - Schedule Linked
8:30am - 10:00am, Grade 7 Math Exam.
1:00pm - 2:30pm, Grade 8 Math Exam.
Grade 7 & 8 students are only required to be present for their exam. There are no classes before or after the exams.
Grade 6 students have a regular scheduled day.
Students should wear their regular school uniform.
Wednesday, June 11, 8:45am - 3:30pm - Canada’s Wonderland Trip - VO Form
If your child is Not participating in the Canada's Wonderland trip, please email Middle School Leadership Coordinator, Diana Rowell, at rowell@yorkschool.com or Middle School Administrative Assistant, Sally Warren, at swarren@yorkschool.com.
There are no alternative programs if your child chooses not to attend.
Thursday, June 12 - Exam/Project Return, Action Morning, YPA BBQ Lunch, Dress Rehearsal for Closing
8:30am - 10:15am, Exam & project return. The IT department will also be collecting students chromebooks adaptors and laptop bags for the summer.
10:15am - 12:00pm, Action morning.
12:00pm - 12:30pm, YPA sponsored BBQ lunch.
12:35pm - 1:30pm, Dress rehearsal for closing. Attendance is mandatory for all Grade 8 students, Grade 6 Chamber Band, Grade 7 Ensemble students, Honor Band and Grade speakers.
Athletic wear is permitted for all students.
Friday, June 13 - Middle School Closing
All Grade 6 & 7 music and honor band students should meet in the band room at 8:15am.
All Student speakers should meet in the gym at 8:30am.
All other students should be in their homeroom for 8:30am.
The Middle School Closing runs from 9:00am - 10:30am.
Grade 6 & 7 students will be dismissed immediately after closing.
Grade 8 students and their families are invited to a reception in the cafeteria from 10:30am - 11:30am.
Students should wear their regular school uniform.
June Report Cards - Week of June 23
The final June report will be available to download from YorkNet during the week of June 23. You will receive an email notification when it's ready, and paper copies will not be mailed out.
As well, a list of stationery supplies (for Grade 7 and 8 students) will be made available on the school’s YorkNet site when the June Reports are posted.
A June mailing will be sent that includes an Academic Achievement Certificate for Honor Roll (79.5% - 84.4%), Principal’s List (84.5% - 89.4%) and Head’s List (89.5% and above).
Preparing for the next Academic Year: Books, Uniforms, Timetables
Please refer to the 2025-2026 Family Handbook for information on books and uniforms.
Please note that gym uniforms will be available for purchase onsite at The York Shop (1320 Yonge St) on August 25 and August 26 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Alternatively, students can purchase gym uniforms when they visit The York Shop with their gym class during the week of September 8.
Timetables will be available during the last week of August. An email will be sent to notify you that your child’s timetable is available on YorkNet.

French Speaking Club Update
The Middle School French Speaking Club wrapped up today with an exciting speech competition - le concours d'art oratoire, showcasing the hard work and dedication of its members. Every Friday at recess, this group of boys gathered to brainstorm ideas, write their speeches and practice presenting with confidence. Their efforts culminated in a celebration of language, creativity and courage as they shared their final pieces to judges (Mme Maybee & Mme Maheshwari) en français. Bravo à tous - especially Frederico Worms Sciama, the gold medal winner!
Closing Ceremony Student Information
The Middle School dress rehearsal for closing ceremonies is on Thursday, June 12 from 12:35pm - 1:30pm. Attendance is mandatory for all Grade 8’s, Honor Band, Grade 6 and 7 Music students and Grade speakers.
On Friday, June 13, Middle School students should be in their homeroom classroom for 8:30am.
Band performers - meet in the band room at 8:15am
Student speakers - meet in the gym at 8:30am
Closing Ceremony will be held from 9:00am - 10:30pm
Grade 8 Reception will be from 10:30am - 11:30am
