UPCOMING EVENTS

The cold and wet weather is upon us! Helping your child dress for the weather will help them have the best experience at recess and in the classroom. Please help them to bring these items: 

  • A clean pair of indoor shoes to stay inside and be used for the classroom and gym class

  • Mitts, hat, a warm coat and snow pants

  • Rain gear; rain boots, rain coat

  • A change of clothes; extra socks, sweatpants

YEARBOOK COVER DESIGN WINNERS

The results of the annual Yearbook Cover Design Contest are in! All Junior School students were invited to share their artistic talents and create designs that celebrate our new house names and our community spirit. In addition to the front cover design winner Matthew K. in 4B, we also have nine winners that will be showcased on our back cover. END OF TERM CLASS PARTIES - Friday, December 15

Our incredible Junior School Class Parents are organizing class parties to celebrate the end of term. We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate on the day. Please share your availability by Wednesday, November 29. Volunteers are needed from 2:00pm until 3:15pm (for a 45 minute party, set up and clean up). If you're available, please complete this quick form by end of day Wednesday, November 29.  Everyone who submits this form will receive an email on Friday, December 1 - as it is possible that interested volunteers will outnumber available spaces.

WINTER RECESS EVENT - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

*Please share your availability by the end of December* Looking ahead to next term, we are excited to plan another outdoor recess event at the Junior School!  Volunteers will run simple games + serve a special treat. The event takes place exclusively in the JS playground on Friday, January 26 - regardless of weather. If you're available, please complete this quick volunteer form by the end of December. Everyone who submits this form will receive an email on Monday, January 8 - as it is possible that interested volunteers will outnumber available spaces.

SAVE THE DATE: JUNIOR SCHOOL HARMONY CONCERT

Thursday, December 14 10:15am to 11:15am

Christ Church Deer Park 

Please join our JK- Grade 5 student performers as we come together to celebrate the end of the first term and the learning taking place in our music programme. Music Unites Us!  

For the concert, JK-SK students are asked to wear their York branded gym uniform and Grade 1 - 5 students are to wear their green long or short-sleeved polo shirts with grey pants or a skirt.

JK-G2 Skating and G3-G5 Cross-country skiing at Horseshoe Valley.
We will be sharing another volunteer sign up for our annual Great Canadian Outdoor Day on Friday, February 2. Timing and locations will be confirmed shortly.

CAIS STUDENT HOLIDAY ARTWORK 

Dear CAIS Community, 

CAIS Schools are filled with beautiful and inspiring artwork. Every year, as the festive season approaches, we ask for help to find a holiday celebration drawing to feature on our digital holiday communication that will go out to our entire community.

Submission Guidelines:
Any student in a CAIS School can submit a piece (limit one per student, please!) for consideration. Artists may use crayons, felt, pencil, pen or paint.

How to Submit:
Ensure submissions are captured with high-quality, high-resolution scans or photographs
