What you need to know
Thank you for an amazing year as a JS community. Enjoy your summer and see you in September!
Lost & Found: All items in the JS lost & found will be donated at the end of the last day of school. Itβs your last chance to drop in to find your familyβs missing items.
The final June report will be available on YorkNet on June 20. An email reminder will go out on the day.
Please refer to the 2025-2026 Family Handbook for information on pick up, drop off and uniforms.
Our Junior School Principal, Sara Sankari, will be in touch on August 20 with a welcome message and everything you need to know to kick off the school year smoothly.
If your child is moving from Grade 5 to Grade 6 or leaving The York School then you will both lose access to all work saved in Seesaw after July 30. Only families and students returning to the Junior School in the fall will continue to have access to work currently in Seesaw via the Family app or online.
Any work that you wish to keep can be saved in one of two ways:Option 1: Save individual important posts
Open the Seesaw Family app or go to app.seesaw.me/
Go to the post you want to save
Click the 3 dots in the bottom right corner and select Save
Give it an appropriate name and save it to your device
Option 2: Save Everything
Use a computer to follow this process for downloading your childβs entire Seesaw portfolio: How-do-families-and-students-save-and-download-student-work
The Learning Journal will be saved to your computer as a zip archive, including images, videos, audio recordings and text notes or captions. This wonβt look quite the same as it did online but everything will be there - saved on a computer in folders and labelled by date.
We're committed to fostering an environment of excellence at York, and that commitment extends to every aspect of your child's day, including their snacks and lunches. We believe that nutritious and enjoyable food plays a vital role in our young learners' well-being and their ability to thrive academically and socially.
To better understand what our Junior School students are enjoying and to explore exciting new possibilities for our menus, we've created this survey for you to take with your child(ren). Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to offer a diverse and appealing culinary experience that supports our students' healthy development and broadens their palates. If you could please complete the survey by Friday, June 13, 2025, we would greatly appreciate it.

FALL CO-CURRICULARS
Friday, August 29 - Registration for Fall Clubs & Athletics 2025-2026 opens at 9:00am online through YorkNet.
Tuesday, September 2 - Registration for Fall Clubs & Athletics 2025-2026 closes at noon.
Monday, September 8 - All Fall Co-Curricular & Athletic programming begins at the Junior School.
*Please note that there are no Fall club offerings for students in Junior Kindergarten as our youngest learners need time to acclimatize to a full day academic program.
Individual programs often have a maximum number of participants but every effort is made to accommodate student interest. In the case of high demand, we have been able to open an additional section of a particular offering to accommodate those students on the waitlist. We may also have to cancel a club offering due to a lack of student interest and under enrollment.
As you plan your childβs co-curricular experience for the upcoming academic year, here is a schedule of our Fall offerings in athletics and clubs.
