Canadian universities are posting dates for Open Houses. Open houses allow you to learn about specific programs, talk to current students and perhaps even have a meal on-campus. Small group campus tours run regularly throughout the year at most universities.

Shad Canada is a not-for-profit organization, and has grown our leading program into one of the nation’s longest-running pre-university STEAM and entrepreneurship programs. Delivered in partnership with 28 post-secondary campuses across Canada, Shad is recognized as one of the most influential and transformational summer experiences for motivated high school students.
Shad has more than 27,000 alumni that bring creativity, resilience, and leadership into science, technology, business, and community life. What begins as an immersive summer program can lead to a lifelong network and inspire a commitment to shaping a better future for Canada and the world. Shad 2027 applications are open to high school students currently completing Grade 10 and 11. The 2027 program dates for all live-in options is July 4–30 (27 days on-campus). University of Cambridge Information Evening at The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto on September 25, 2026 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Delivered by Sarah Hales, Senior Regional Manager in the office of student admissions & access at the University of Cambridge, this event is open to all students who may be interested in studying in the UK. The session will cover numerous aspects of applying to UK universities and the University of Cambridge specifically. Click HERE to register for the event.
Loran Scholarship
Loran Scholars benefit from a four-year leadership-enrichment program, financial support for their undergraduate studies, national and international experiential learning opportunities, and a long-term supportive community of peers and mentors, including business and community leaders. You can find a detailed breakdown of the program here. In addition to naming 36 Loran Scholars, we will also allocate more than $400,000 in additional one-time awards to up to 54 Loran Finalists and 70 Loran Provincial and Territorial recipients. Saturday, October 17: Go ENG 2025 (Gr. 7-10, All students)
Our first event for this season is called “Go ENG 2026” in collaboration with ONWiE, Hydro One and Actua. The only Go ENG program in Ontario for all genders in grades 7-10! Students will be able to take part in hands-on activities inspired by issues in the real world, meet other like-minded students, and learn about the wonderful world of Engineering.
Fall 2026 Lumiere Scholars Essay Award. It's free to enter. Winners share more than $11,000 in cash prizes and scholarships. Prompts come from professors at Cambridge, Brown, Dartmouth, and Duke.

The Lumiere Scholars Essay Award is an essay competition open to high school students (grades 9 to 12) worldwide. Winners share more than $11,000 in cash prizes and scholarships to do independent research with a PhD. mentor. Prompts come from professors at Cambridge, Brown, Dartmouth, and Duke.
Top essayists are invited to the Gala Dinner at Oxford University in July 2027, keynoted by 2019 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Professor Didier Queloz.
Submit before October 25 to get $100 on top of your final scholarship amount.
