Grade 11s have been encouraged to update their university list on Naviance. Be prepared to arrive in September for Grade 12 with some perspective on where you will apply and why. Exciting! Grade 11 students planning to apply to universities in the US have attended a writing workshop (in May) and have material to help them get started writing their drafts for the Common Application Essay.

Love writing? Love money? Free Global Essay Competition – Judged by Yale and Oxbridge Faculty

The Horizon Academic Essay Prize is a global essay competition open to high school students worldwide. Winners of the essay competition can win a $1000 cash-award and an academic scholarship. Essays will be evaluated by Horizon’s Academic Advisory Board—composed of faculty from top institutions like Yale, Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge. The theme for the 2025 edition is ‘Horizons of Knowledge’.
