MESSAGE FROM STRUAN ROBERTSON, HEAD OF SCHOOL
Congratulations to all members of the Ski team who made it to the OFSAA championship - shout out to Colin W who took home a first for York with a Gold Medal in the Open Male Giant Slalom at OFSAA.
Congratulations to U14 1B Boys Basketball, U14 Girls D2 Volleyball teams and Varsity D3 Boys Basketball as they all had perfect seasons (undefeated) and won the CISAA championships.
Wishing our Varsity Girls Volleyball and Varsity Boys Basketball teams all the best as they participate in their OFSAA championships next week!
We are participating in a conference on Saturday, March 2 called "Equity through Education: Embracing Challenges, Building Leaders and Fostering Inclusion".
We look forward to our annual JS YPA pancake breakfasts next week on March 5 and 6.
Junior School Book Fair is running next week.
We are looking forward to our Jazz Showcase at the Lula Lounge on March 5 featuring a special guest - Kae Murphy.
We will host Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, alongside a group of student presenters for our March 6 Assembly: Understanding Islam and the Muslim Experience.

THE YORK SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING UPDATE
At last night’s Board meeting, the Board reviewed the admissions and enrolment data and prepared for its upcoming spring retreat.
The Board of Directors is calling for nominations for Board and Committee Members for 2024-2025. If you are interested, please click the button below to submit your nomination.
Deadline for nominations is March 29, 2024.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A YPA TREASURER
The York Parents’ Association is looking for a volunteer from our parent community to work with our current Treasurer to support them and learn about the role from now until the end of the school year in June 2024. This person will then take on the role of the YPA Treasurer starting July 2024. This volunteer position is a YPA Executive role, and ideally involves a two year commitment.
If you are interested in this role, please fill out the form by Thursday March 7, 2024.

In the same way you access your child(ren)’s report card or timetable, the Child Tax Credit forms and T2202 tax forms are now posted to YorkNet.

Athletics
Absolutely one of the greatest weeks in the history of our school… period.
U14 1B Boys Basketball, U14 Girls D2 Volleyball, and Varsity D3 Boys Basketball all had perfect seasons (undefeated) bringing home CISAA championships.
Colin Wiseman, a member of York’s Ski team and TYS G.O.A.T., has cemented his legacy by winning the first OFSAA Gold Medal in our school’s history.
Varsity Boys Basketball and Varsity Girls Volleyball both head to OFSAA next week in hope of bringing home more hardware.
We continue to show that our school ‘plays big’ on the CISAA and provincial stage.

Tickets for the CISMF Music Festival go on sale Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12:00pm to Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:59pm.
Limit of 2 tickets per family. If you buy more than 2, the entire purchase will be refunded. This is to allow as many families as possible to attend, as tickets sell out fast - less than 90 minutes historically.
Tickets will be emailed to the purchaser on April 2.
